Batumi
It only took about 7 months and 5 or so countries later, but I finally picked up my camera for photos instead of video. I started vlogging after leaving Mexico. I should have started in Mexico. You simply cannot fathom the size of the hurdle one must leap to start vlogging. Maybe not everybody. I’m sure the younger generations born with iPhones shoved down their throats are super comfortable creating content right out of the crib. Me, being a nearly 40-year-old man who has mostly eschewed social media had a very difficult time. Many false starts. Once I began, I needed to put in my reps. Keep doing it and doing it until it wasn’t uncomfortable any longer, or at least less awkward. That was my priority. Photography got booted from the bill.
Anyway…
Batumi’s population balloons during the peak tourist season from a city roughly the size and population of Baton Rouge, to that of Miami. If what Ai says is true, Batumi’s population can easily double and even triple from ~187,000 to “I can’t Breathe.” However, it’s not difficult to find a little space and quiet. You just have to get outside while everyone else is still sleeping off the previous night’s debaucheries (i.e. before 9am).
